» The flight school offers full flight training for Pilot Permit - Ultra-light*, Passenger carrying rating** and Ultra-light instructor rating.
» The flight training consists of two parts: theoretical part - Ground School, and practical part - flight instruction.
» Students have to apply for Medical Certificate Category 4
» Students can start with practical part anytime, Ground School for PP-UL is online.
» There is no age limit to start with the flight training. The only limit is for solo flight - 14 years of age and student obtain his Pilot Permit in 16 years of age.

*The ultra-light pilot permit allows the holder to fly an ultra-light aircraft in accordance with day VFR. A passenger may not be carried without a passenger carrying endorsement.
**advanced ultra-light airplanes are allowed to carry one passenger, if the pilot has an ultra-light pilot permit endorsed with passenger carrying rating.The passenger-carrying—ultra-light airplane rating applies only to the ultra-light pilot permit. Pilots with a recreational pilot permit—airplane and higher airplane licences are allowed to carry passengers in an aircraft that is authorized for passenger-carrying.
Ultra-light Aero. Pilot Permit
• age: 16 years minimum
• Medical Declaration Category 4 or Medical Certificate Category 1,3,4
• minimum in last 24 months: 10 hrs total flight time, 5 hrs dual, 2 hrs solo, 30 TOs&LNDs - 10 as solo
• 20 hours ground school, 60% on written exam
Ultra-light Aero. Instructor Rating
• Medical Certificate Category 3 or 1
• 10 hours of ULTRA ground school
• written FITEN exam 80%
• minimum in last 24 months: 50 hrs total time, 5 hrs advanced dual, 5 hrs instructional techniques, 25 hrs solo
• Flight test
Ground School
Ground School is available online. Students get their unique username and password to access the ground school and they can study at home.

The price $350 + HST, online access, text book, and study material included.

Radio Communication Course

 

This course is intended to improve pilot’s communication skills. Pilots and students, who don't have Restricted Radio Operator Certificate yet, can get it after the course. We strongly recommend this course to all students, but it is for everybody, who wants to improve his/her radio communication skills.

The price of the course for our students and members is $80 for non-members and applicants for Restricted Radio Operator Certificate $150+ GST

 

Students can sign up anytime in the office or order the course: fill out the application form and send it to our address

 

 

Time building discount

Starting August 1, 2010 every Aviator Academy member and student gets a discount card for each month. We will count down every flight and after completing 5 hours per month there will be 0.5 flight hour for free.

 

Each month members get a new discount card.

Aviator Academy prepares interesting courses related to aviation.

These courses are intended to improve pilot’s skill and focus especially on ultra-light pilot’s needs. Each course explains deeply each subject.

 

Every course will be announced about one month in advance.

 

Winter Flying Course November 27, 2010 is approved by Transport Canada as a Safety Seminar and are conducted in accordance with CARs 421.05(2)(c ).

Radio Communication Course - October 24, 2010 is approved by Transport Canada as a Safety Seminar and are conducted in accordance with CARs 421.05(2)(c ).

Aviator Academy offers a small Aviation Library for students and members.

There is about 50 books from all aviation fields from weather guides to ATPL study.

Every Aviator Academy student and member can borrow any book. We plan on enlarging this library continuously and supply the library with more interesting aviation books.

Minimum training hours: 5 flight hours
Ground school: PGI if needed
Cost: Dual Instruction $160 + tax
Upon completion of this training you are allowed to fly any Ultra-light Tail Wheel Airplane
